As the world celebrates Earth Day, Central BioHub is embracing its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This year, our Earth Day initiatives are about embodying the change we wish to see in the world. We've integrated several activities and partnerships aimed at reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainability within our community.
Cycling to Sustainability
In a bid to reduce our environmental impact, Central BioHub employees have pledged to ride bicycles to work for a week. This initiative serves multiple purposes: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, encouraging physical health, and fostering a sense of community among our team members. By choosing pedals over petrol, we are trying to make a small but significant contribution towards cleaner air and a healthier planet.
A Week of Vegan Delights
Understanding the environmental impact of meat consumption, Central BioHub has declared a vegan week in the office. For this week, all meals will be 100% plant based. This initiative helps in reducing carbon and water footprints, given the considerable resources required to produce meat. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our team to explore the diversity of plant-based food.
Contributing to Reforestation with New Partners
Central BioHub contributes to the afforestation efforts in Brandenburg with Viva La Wald and a new partner project, which we will reveal very soon. With this effort, we hope to inspire the community and initiate actions within our company to reach our sustainability goals, making the project with Viva La Wald and this new partnership a pivotal part of our sustainability efforts. Green Logistics and Future Commitments
Our sustainability efforts extend beyond direct actions to the very core of our business operations. By partnering with DHL's GoGreen Plus, all our global shipments are delivered climate neutral, therefore minimizing environmental impact.
